Seventeen Mile Rocks (4073)

Situated 11 km to Brisbane’s southwest and on the Brisbane River, Seventeen Mile Rocks (4073) was originally named for rocks that were removed to widen the river to allow shipping access. Although previously an industrial suburb, because of its accessible to major roads and freeways, it has recently undergone urbanisation with the development of residential housing estates some designed around lakes and one replacing a previous drive-in theatre. It is also home to a large riverside park with a host of recreational facilities including cycling and walking tracks, barbecues, and climbing walls.
