Located 18 km on the Eastside of Brisbane’s CBD , Ransome (4154) was named for one of its earliest residents who was a timber merchant selling firewood. It is now a small suburb home to only 480 inhabitants with an average age of 39 years. Most were born in Australia, England or New Zealand, although Germany is a notable minority and English is spoken as a first language at home. German and interestingly, Persian is also spoken as a second language in a small number of homes.
