Newport (4020)

Situated 30 km to the north of Brisbane on the Redcliffe peninsula, Newport (4020) was first developed as a prestigious residential canal estate in the early 1970s reclaimed from marshy swampland. In the mid-1990s the canals were extended and in the early 2000s, another new estate of moderate density dry blocks was established. Although a primarily quiet upmarket suburb, Newport also has a busy marina, a small shopping centre, parklands, a lake and in the near future, access to a rail link to Brisbane.
