Full Brick or Cavity Brick Construction

Full Brickwork is the simplest type of brick wall and is constructed in solid brickwork, normally at least one brick thick. Bricks are laid in rows known as courses, the arrangement of each course giving rise to different patterns.

This is in contrast to cavity brick walls where two layers (or leaves) of brickwork are tied together with metal ties, with a cavity that may be filled with insulation.
