Arch Support
A flat steel bar or an angle to carry the weight of masonry or bricks above a fireplace or window opening.
The traditional arch is self-supporting if constructed correctly. The key being supports either side of the arch that will not spread under load and a wedge shaped “Key Stone” to lock the arch. In domestic construction, decorative arches are constructed without a key stone and without adequate side supports so an Arch Bar is required.
