Located 30 km to Brisbane’s west and adjoining the Centenary Highway to its north, Springfield Central (4300) is primarily the central business precinct for a suburb of Ipswich and therefore, very sparsely populated with 105 residents as of 2011. However, it does contain extensive parkland with artificial waterways, a lagoon, playgrounds, sports fields, landscaped gardens, and walking/cycling paths. As a commercial, educational, retail, and health hub, it also contains a major shopping centre, railway station, a number of schools, a private hospital, university campus.
