A suburb of Ipswich about 25 km south-west of Brisbane, and is home to 1,600 people. The suburb’s name was derived from a description of the area by Major Lockyer whilst exploring the Brisbane River.
Redbank railway station provides regular train services to Brisbane and Ipswich. A series of sidings serve local coal mines. The
